This brief for this garden renovation was to create functional and attractive outdoor living spaces for both the resident family and Karori’s local bird life. The garden was to be consistent with the character home, whilst utilizing predominantly native species in a considered aesthetic.

Mature trees were retained along with the existing brick walls and some concrete paths. Access was created across the lawn with insitu concrete slabs, with new, more robust, fencing for both privacy and to contain the family dog. A tiled outdoor living space is focused on a Trendz Outdoor Fire and new deck area created for the spa to overlook surrounding bush. More practical requirements of a clothesline and vegetable garden were contained in terraces below.
